Profase Probiotic is a probiotic formula that was designed after 11 years of comprehensive research, clinical trials and laboratory experiments involving probiotic bacteria’s effects on yeast infections.
In the past, many of our clients had used other probiotic formulas that had no effect on their chronic yeast infections. But we suspected that if you were to only use the best scientifically proven bacteria for controlling excess yeast levels in the probiotic, it would work for these infections.
We also determined that the probiotic bacteria should also stimulate immune function in the gut because most women with chronic vaginal yeast, also have an over growth in their intestine. This intestinal over growth results in them re-infecting themselves month after month after month.
The probiotic bacteria also had to be normal inhabitants of the human microbiome with many of them also being inhabitants of the vagina.
We also looked for bacteria species that were effective against candida yeast that are soil based. Soil based bacteria have been consumed by humans since time began when we ate plants. Lets face it, mankind has not had running water that long so our food wasn’t always that clean before we ate it. These bacteria are transient, meaning they do not colonize the intestine, but do a job while they pass through and some of these species are definitely yeast killers. In the soil, they kill fungi and without them, the world would be an overgrown fungal paradise. It made sense to us that if these bacteria killed fungi in the soil, they should be able to kill fungi in the body. Yeast is a fungi.
The bacteria had to be available at a reasonable cost so we could formulate a product that was effective at a reasonable price. Yes, we could have used acidophilus, which seems to be everyone’s favorite and is cheap, but there are to many other more effective yeast killing bacteria out there. When you also consider that to much acidophilus can cause cytolitic vaginosis, a condition that causes symptoms similar to a yeast infection, it didn’t help acidophilus’s case. We also were seeing yeast growing right along side a +4 level of acidophilus in the gut, which told us it is not that effective as a yeast killer. Taking all these facts into consideration in our quest for the best, we decided to leave it out of Profase.
Profase contains the bacteria bifidobacterium longum, bifidobacterium animallis lactis, bifidobacterium breve, lactobacillus casei, lactobacillus plantarum, and bacillus subtillis at a dose of 30 billion bacteria per capsule. However, Profase probiotic is very heat stable and at the time of manufacture is also over formulated. It is not uncommon for fresh capsules of Profase to contain 50 billion bacteria. 16 month testing has shown bacteria levels of 37 to 38 billion per capsule. It can be used when traveling for up to 3 weeks without any loss of potency, providing you don’t leave it in a hot car for a couple of days. Like all probiotics, refrigeration is best and will help it maintain maximum potency.
Profase probiotic is a 100% vegetarian formula and does not contain egg, dairy, preservatives, salt, sucrose, soy, wheat, yeast, nuts, corn, gluten, casein, potato, rice, any artificial colors or flavors. Capsules are made from cellulose and a little bit of Isolmalto-Oligosaccharide (a prebiotic) is used to get the bacteria to flow into the capsule.

Profase Probiotic Risks and Side Effects
Probiotic bacteria have no known toxicities and in healthy people they exhibit very few side effects. The most common is a feeling of bloat or mild constipation in those that are not used to taking them. These symptoms usually subside within a week.
In patients with severe health problems, such as people with leukemia and being treated with chemotherapy, resulting in a severely immuno-compromised state of health, they can cause infections.
However, no infections have ever been reported in any clinical studies on probiotics ever. It has been estimated that one in a million people will develop an infection from any probiotic.
If you are allergic to histamine producing foods, histamine producing bacteria can cause problems such as headaches. Profase contains bacteria that produce histamines and bacteria that neutralize histamines, making the formula histamine neutral.
How to Take Profase Probiotic
If you are taking Profase probiotic for any kind of yeast infection it is best to take it away from food. We suggest one hour or more before breakfast and at bedtime.
Dosing recommendations are based on individual needs but typically for a therapeutic dose we recommend 2 caps twice daily. You can however take more if needed and if you take to much you will develop diarrhea. If you do develop diarrhea the solution is simple, back off the dose until it subsides.
Long term maintenance doses can be as low as one capsule a day. I personally take one Profase with two Biofase every morning and have been doing so for a very long time.

Hi Admin,
I’ve been suffering from Candida since April now. I really don’t know what to do anymore.
I’ve tried different probiotics and my diet is quite healthy, but still I can’t seem to get rid of this problem.
I would very much appreciate your advice.
Sincerely,
Ramona
Ramona,
I am going to send you an email from https://yeastinfectionadvisor.com and try to help you.
Hi, glad you have better options than big Pharma can offer; can we break capsule into water and take it , we have trouble swallowing pills:(( Thanks!
Hi Linna,
Yes, absolutely! I give it to my 3 year old grand daughter every night like that. Works Great!
Does profase have to be refrigerated after opening? I’m going on vacation and don’t have a way to keep it cool until I get to where I’m going. Thank you!
Hi Barbara,
Like all probiotics, it is best to refrigerate them to maintain potency. However, Profase can be used while traveling for a few weeks without any loss in potency. Just refrigerate as soon as you can.
My wife has recently started Profase Premium Probiotic Formula Supplement and is well pleased at this point. My question to you is where is the shelf life/expiration
date located on the supplement. I have two bottles with MFG date of 03/24 (just purchased) and I have question as to its viable potency.
Please advise.
Respectfully
Timothy
Hi Timothy,
MFG stands for manufacture date which is when it was made. Contrary to popular belief, probiotics don’t expire, they just lose potency over time. We have tested 16 and 18 month old bottles by shipping them to our manufacturers lab in Phoenix Arizona in July. Both times each capsule of Profase contained 37 billion live bacteria. So we suspect, that if they were kept in a refrigerated environment, they would probably still contain 30 billion bacteria at 2 years.
